Youth Cup winners from Villeneuve

12 teams met at Yachtclub Bielersee from 12 to 13th September for the annual showdown of under 23-year old teams. The victory went to CVVi, a team loyal to the SSL Youth Cup for many years. Bravo to Camille, Erin, Miguel and Léonard. Second was the local team from Yachtclub Bielersee with Matthew, Nolan, Luca and Neela and the third place went to Regattaclub Oberhofen with Louis, Julien, Xavier, Lina and Angelina. Well done everybody!

YC Luzern wins Act IV of the Challenge League

From 25 to 27 September, the Swiss Sailing Challenge League gathered in Wingreis on Lake Biel for the fourth and final Act of the 2026 season.

The wind made for a challenging weekend. On Friday, very light conditions allowed only a few races to be completed. Unfortunately, the wind disappeared completely for the rest of the weekend, and no further racing was possible on Saturday or Sunday.

With the results from Friday standing, Yacht Club Luzern (YCL) won the final Act with 5 points. Segler-Vereinigung Thalwil (SVT) and Société Nautique de Genève (SNG) followed with 10 points each.

Despite the lack of racing, there was plenty of opportunity to enjoy the league spirit ashore. On Saturday evening, the two host clubs, Yacht Club Bielersee (YCB) and the Swiss Racing Sailors (SRS), treated the teams to a very nice dinner. A big thank you to both clubs and all the volunteers for hosting the event and for their patience throughout a difficult weekend for race organisation.

CER, SVT and CNP are in the Super League next year

In the 2026 Challenge League annual ranking, Centre d'Entraînement à la Régate (CER) finishes the season in first place with 77 points, ahead of Segler-Vereinigung Thalwil (SVT) with 87 points and Club Nautique de Pully (CNP) with 89 points.
