Club Nautique Morgien celebrates double victory at home

From 2 to 4 October, the Swiss Sailing Super League gathered in Morges on Lake Geneva for the fourth and final Act of the 2026 season. Hosted by Club Nautique Morgien (CNM), the event brought three days of pure Swiss Sailing League racing and an exciting Mixed Series season to a close.

Friday opened the series with a beautiful day of racing. The wind was consistent in strength, although at times shifty, providing excellent conditions for the teams on the water. The forecasts for Saturday and Sunday looked considerably less promising. Nevertheless, the race committee made the most of every opportunity and managed to complete 26 races over the three days, giving each team 13 races.

CNM made an early statement in the fight for the event victory and ultimately delivered on home waters. Led by Sam Kivell, Club Nautique Morgien won the final Act with 28 points. Segel Club Cham (SCC), skippered by Philippe Erni, finished second with 35 points, followed by Yacht Club Bielersee (YCB), led by Damian Suri, with 39 points.

While CNM increasingly put their stamp on the battle for the event win, the fight at the top of the annual leaderboard remained a thriller – particularly for second and third place. With everything still to play for at the season finale, every race counted towards deciding the final championship podium.

In the end, Club Nautique Morgien completed the perfect finale on home waters. Sam Kivell and his team followed up their Act victory by securing the 2026 Swiss Championship title in the Mixed Series. Claiming both the Act victory and the Swiss Championship title on home waters was the perfect finale for CNM.

Behind the new Swiss Champions, Regattaclub Bodensee (RCB), skippered by Julian Flessati, secured second place in the annual ranking. Segel Club Cham (SCC), led by Philippe Erni, completed the championship podium, adding an overall bronze medal to their second-place finish in Morges.

The finale was not only a success on the water. Ashore, CNM showed everything their club has to offer, and the warm, friendly and open shore crew made everyone feel very welcome throughout the weekend. A big thank you to Club Nautique Morgien, the race committee, the umpire team and all the volunteers who made the season finale possible.
